Me: “More alone time.”

Ella: “Mommy, I will get you a alone time party for all of us.”

Me: Sigh

To keep up with my Thank You notes. I used to be good. Then I got bad. I have made good on all my 2007 Christmas Thank Yous. If I forgot you, please let me know and I will send you a cute little personlized Thank You. To encourage me further, I just ordered 4 sets of the cutest Thank You cards from Rock Scissor Paper. I always go to this site with the intention of stocking up on their cute cards, but never do. Today I did. And such a bargain. Thank You!

Uniquely delicious

Well hello 2008. I guess its that time again to get in shape. Since 2007 was the year for me to get pregnant, and eat lots of icecream, I now have a faux prego pooch. Because they said eating lots of icecream would help me get pregnant! And I just figured I would breast feed all those pounds away. Well no baby; yet! Nows its time to throw out all that excess Christmas candy, and get back to cooking healthy. I love the holidays, but its always nice to have a clean slate starting on ah hem, January 2. I came across this breakfast recipe from Relish Magizne. A insert in our local paper. Its sort of cheesy quick facts that you already have read in depth in your more sophisticated magazines, but I have come to enjoy it. And this is my second recipe from the magazine that has been a winner. Of course I modified, because my way is always better.

Heres my mods:

I skipped the fennel seeds because every month I think I am pregnant and with that comes faux prego symptoms. So the taste and smell of fennel makes me want to throw up. I also used vanilla soy milk instead of regular milk. Instead of all the spices, I just used a few teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice. I used whatever dried fruit I had on hand, today was dried cherrys. I also gave it a drizzle of agave nectar for sweetness. Once cooled I just put in a air tight container and stuck it in the fridge. It will last me for a few breakfasts for the week. I just scoop out what I want, and pour some extra soy milk over it and some sliced banannas for good measure. I was pleasantly surprised by the yummy texture and taste of bulgar for breakfast.  Enjoy.
