My husband is coming around!!

I think I found the xmas spirit!

I just put the nog in the fridge, and oh yeah the whiskeys in it!

Come over and pour yourself a glass and watch my favorite scene from The Christmas Carol. It is the scene where ol’ dad makes his famous plum pudding and his kids are so excited to taste it and they can hardly contain themselves. Oh joy to the world!

I think I have lost that ol’ christmas spirit. A rant.

I was actually doing good with what I have to work with. We have no christmas tree, because our fridge is sitting in its spot. We have no kitchen, so I can’t make my famous plum pudding (of course im kidding there!) Our dining table is in our living room so when Santa comes down the chimney, he will be greeted by a dining table and chairs and will probably hit his head on the table. But over the weekend, I did manage to dig up the stockings and put those over the fireplace. I also urged Mark to put lights up on the house. I have been humming those corny christmas tunes. But it took just one comment that ruined it. Thats all it took! Well, I guess it has festered over for some time and it was that comment that took it over the edge. Today is a new day, and I hope I can snap out of it. In fact, this strong coffee I am drinking is helping. I think I need to just surround myself around people who want to be festive. I want my kids to grow up looking forward to this holiday and not be put off by the negative comments some people always have to throw my/our way. I want to start new corny traditions that they will look forward to and will be the running joke in the family as the years go by. If you are just going to be negative during this once a year holiday, then stop complaining and shut down until the new year. And please let me know, so that I can stop trying to be all festive and positive around you. I have kids now, and I only want this experience to be absolutely fun, caring, giving and a positive time for them and me.

Ollies first sentence.

Filed under: Another day, another way... — Administrator @ 7:49 am

My 2 year old Ollie has yet to fully talk yet. We call him our little french man, cause that is what he sounds like. But since Friday he has started speaking his first sentence. It started Friday morning and I heard him say it but couldn’t really understand but as the hours went on I understood. He was saying “No throw that.” I must say that to him every 10 minutes. He throws his food, his toys, anything. So now before he throws something, he says “no throw that.” He is also very good at saying “no no no no.” Why, when he was throwing cerial or toys could I have just said “I love you” or “mommy is beautiful.” Maybe if a third child comes our way that will be my new plan for disipline.

**new words (if you can call it that)

You know all those past blogs about Ella and all the drama, tears ect. Well Ella is a little peach as of late. Of course she still has her moments but in general it has been really, really, really great with her. Now it is Ollies turn to drive me up the wall. It all started when he turned 2, maybe about a month or 2 before that. It is the special magical age of 2. Stay tuned.

Home Addition week 8

Filed under: Home Addition Progress — Administrator @ 2:54 pm

Yes, it is week 8. And I was motivated enough to take some pictures. Here.

And I got all I needed to prime those fresh new walls of mine, including some expensive new lambs hair rollers at $15 each. I was assured they will last forever if I treat them with love. And I will get a excellent finish. So who wants to come over and paint this weekend? I can provide some tasty snacks and some stiff drinks.

Home Addition Week 6, 7, 8 ???

Filed under: Home Addition Progress — Administrator @ 7:29 pm

I have lost count. At this point I think it will go on for 300 weeks. I don’t really feel a end, but actually it really is progressing. The new bedroom and bathroom progress is not bothering me it is my kitchen that needs to get done. This is the first week where I feel like I am going crazy. Toys, drywall pieces and dust are everywhere. This weekend me and Mark are painting the kitchen. It is going to be a big job. We have to primer the new drywall and the old walls and then slap on a few hundred coats of paint. Not to mention we have to clean with tsp all the old paint in the kitchen and fill in the holes with cement filler. No spackle here, we have block walls. Oh and we have to find a shop vac and vacume the hundred tons or so of dust in the kitchen. Oh and I just remembered that we need to prime all the new drywalled walls, and get started on the new bathroom since the tilework will get started in there hopefully in the next week or so.

On a exciting note, I got my new semi professional range and we got our new super fancy dishwasher. It is just waiting to get hooked up. It is currently sitting in our packed to the ceiling garage.

I promise to post pictures on Monday.
