Okay, its starting. Bob the builder called yesterday and said our permits are released. Week 1 started with cutting down our trees in the front and the back. Our home is unbelievably bright now. We plan on planting new trees soon. Here is the tree we are planting in our front yard.
Here are pictures of the guys cutting down our trees. A shady bunch but a whole lot cheap!
Pics Here!
Yesterday was one of those days with the kids. It all started out okay. I was actually showered and dressed by 9:45. I don’t know where that came from but I was ready to go. I gather up the kids and Ella keeps asking me suspiciously where we are going. I try to hold out until we get to where we are going.
Side story: I try not to take the kids to the store be it grocery, target or what ever. They are very unpredictable and if they decide to go that unpredictable route, my blood gets a boiling! But sometimes I need some milk, and I need it now! Ella has decided she hates going to the store. She gets all pouty and says she just wants to stay home with mommy and Ollie. Well mommy is getting a little cabin fever and sometimes going to get milk at Bel Air is like going out for drinks with my girlfriends. Pathetic I know but when you are a stay at home mom you make do.
So we get to the car and Ella keeps asking where we are going, and I tell her we have to go get milk, and juice, and turkey and the beans birthday present. Ella starts to cry. I get Ollie buckled and Ella is getting louder with her crying. I put her in her car seat and she crys louder (my blood is boiling now) at this point I go around to Ollies seat and take him out and then I take Ella out and tell her to go to her room. I am soooooo mad at this point. I was just so tired of her dictating. Im the boss! But she won, we got to stay home and I pouted like a teenager and I held a childish grudge against Ella for a hour or so.
Ella emerged and she was charming as ever but Ollie turned on me. Just loud shreiks and screams. Ends up he is teething but like always I never realize this until the last minute.
Oh and I watched hunky baby Hendrix for about 2 hours. What a delight to see and hold that new borness again, but he cried also most of the time. But it didn’t bother me. Maybe because he is not my kid, but I just found it cute.
Did I ever get milk? Yes, I loaded them up in the car at 5:30 and told Ella we were going to grandmas but I turned into BelAir instead. Ella was fine, but Ollie cried and whined the whole time. I was that mom in the grocery store with the screaming kids. But sometimes you have no choice okay bitter faced lady behind me waiting to grab a cart while I struggled to get my kids in the cart! Every employee wanted to give Ollie a balloon, but don’t get me started on a balloon story with Ollie. I had to tell all those overly eager to please Belair employees no. I swear like 5 people offered me balloons!
So that was my day. Basically I am about to lose it. This mommy needs a break. Like a over night break with out the kids. I need a recharge! Or more drinks with Heidi every Monday night. Yes, more drinks!
Ella turned 3 on 9/14. It was a nice day. We gave her the cutest little kitchen set and she got tons of fake food to stock it with. Her birthday was at the park and it was a nice time. Lots of pb&js and ritz crackers with chedder slices and juice boxes. Throughout the day I would remember the day I was trying to push her out. I can’t believe it was 3 years ago. I kept choking up all day. I should have just gone to my room and had a good cry instead of holding it back. It is hard to look at pictures that we just took of her 1 month ago let alone 3 years ago. I always feel my throat lump up when ever I look at pictures of my babies. And I completely melt whenever she looks at me with those huge blue eyes of her. I read a great quote a few months ago that was so right on. “With kids, the days are long but the years go by to fast.” Or something along those lines…..Here are pics from the big day!
A relaxing weekend, but the kids were a bit sick with colds. But that did not stop up from going to Cuba on Friday. For Heidis birthday I got her a Mojito mix so we decided to run with it and have a cuban dinner with mohitos. Why not??!! Heidi cooked black beans, a spicy pork and a tasty rice dish. Lots of salty goodness that was washed down with plenty of iced mojitos. For desert, plaintains sauteed with I think butter and sugar-yum! and homemade avocado icecream. Next month we are going to Spain and I will attempt to make my first paella.
Saturday we did the historic stroll through Woodland. We did not pay the $25 or so it takes to go through the featured homes, we did go through all the open homes that the realators had open trying to sell. Had lunch at Ludys, ick, but it is always free for us so we go and it is kid friendly. Saturday night Nigel and Molly took are kids and Mark and I headed to Mukunis, where else??!! We had our usuals but we did try something new, the spicy dream roll no. 1 awhhhhh. I think I would order it again just so I can say out loud spicy dream roll no. 1. Then we walked over to Brew it Up (again) for beers and cheesecake.
Sunday I got up and did a little grocery shopping by 7:30. Very peaceful and relaxing. I got home and both kids were still in bed. Poured some coffee and toasted some english muffins and relaxed a bit before Ollie did his baby dinosaur scream which means get me out of here. That boy really needs to start talking. The dinosaur scream can be really funny at times but not when it attempts to wake Ella up who slept in until about 10:15 anyways! Ended the evening with lasagna, salad, bread and a visit to grandma at my moms house. Oh wait we ended the evening by giving the kids baths and Ella screaming bloody murder the whole time. She has decided that she does not like her hair washed anymore. Next up, Ellas third birthday on Wednesday.
I have been kind of boring lately. It has been nice this weekend with Mark finally home for a whole weekend. Saturday we dragged the kids to a few thrift shops looking for a vintage suitcase, but nothing. And Sunday we went to a 2 year olds birthday party at the park so the kids had fun there running around, eating lolipops, chips, hotdog buns and drinking juice. Monday the kids went with my sis to her husbands company picnic so me and Mark had a couple hours of peace and quiet. We drank beers and listened to bootliquor.com. I put together a little bbq and had Marks mom over along with Molly, Scott, Eden, Suzanne and baby Francis. It was a fantastic evening that ended with Rhubarb pie, peanut butter cookies and brownies. I love indulgent dinner/bbq parties! I will try to post some pictures of the past few weeks later today.
