It was 100+ here all last week and its gonna be 100+ this week. Yes we have air conditioning in the house but you can only keep the kids here in the house for so long. There is no way we are going to the boiling park either unless I want to drag them there at 8am; and maybe I will. So yesterday I said lets go to SF. Yesterdays SF adventure was to go under the Golden Gate Bridge and visit Fort Point. It was a very beautiful hike down to Fort Point. We even dragged along our bulky double stroller, not easy but easier then caring Ollie who is very unruly when it comes to walking along a trail (He’s 2 and he’s not gonna listen!:( sniff sniff, I mean 1 year and 8 months) And it was somewhat of a rugged walk and I am happy to say that I walked it in my wedged flip flops, my cute Calvin Klein jeans and my cute yellow shirt!
It was already misty and foggy when we got to SF but the closer we got to Fort Point the more colder and more windy it got, and when we got inside the fort it was even more cold and even more windy. We were far from Woodland and that nasty 100 degree weather and I was not complaining! I think the kids enjoyed the fort, but they freaked out when I climbed the stairs to the top of the fort to take pictures and take pictures of the bridge. The wind was whipping me around and my legs were actually shaking. Yes, I was a little scared I might get blown away.
By the time we got back to the car, it was a little after 2. We had hiked and wondered around for nearly 3 hours with the kids without very many complaints or cries. We head over the golden gate into Marin and halfway across the bridge the fog cleared and the sky was blue and slowly the heat crept back in but not as bad as Woodland! Again we head to the Marin Brewing Co and feast on burgers, and Mark and I sipped beers and toasted our 6 year anniversary. We were out the brewery for about 2 hours and the kids did not complain or get squirmy. Ollie and Ella got along, Ella did not hit Ollie once, it was a fantastic day!
