Fun at the Park

Filed under: Another day, another way... — Administrator @ 8:11 am

Tuesday are Ella and Mommy days. I took her to the park, which is a huge mistake in the middle of the summer afternoon in Woodland. It was sweltering hot! The sun was beaming down and cooking the slides. I tried to talk Ella out of the park and going home to stroll the neighborhood, but she was firm in her park quest. So we swung for a little bit, and then she played on the jungle gym thingy, but then she parked it in one of the tunnels in the jungle gym and told me to get lost. She was taking a poop. She laid in that hot, sandy tunnel for about 20 minutes. Every time I went to check on her, she yelled at me to go away! When she was finally done, she wanted to continue playing with a big ol’ load in her pants. I carried her away kicking and screaming. Got home and cleaned her up and put on her new Strawberry Shortcake panties. Don’t worry, she was wearing a disposable panty/pull up when she pooped. But she has pooped in her panties and its not pretty! But as far as the peeps and wearing real chonies, she is doing fairly well. Once she was all cleaned up, she sipped iced water and I sipped iced tea and we looked through the Pottery Barn Kids catalog, ahhh…..

Its been years!

I know, I know! Just not that motivated to write lately. But here are the highlights since about June1.
We took the kids to SF to the Steinhart (sp?) Aquariaum. Fabulous area in SF for kids, since the moma is right there and also the Metreone (sp? again), and Buena Vista Gardens with the carasoul and cool park area with monster slides.

Chris and Maria had their beautiful little (I mean chunky) baby girl!

Went grocery shopping at Trader Joes. This is a highlight for me, I love going to Trader Joes!
Had a fantastic weekend with the Gast/Stewart family. Not that we all stayed together for the whole weekend, it just ended up
being that we hung out with them all weekend. With Saturday being about visiting Chris and Marias baby and then strolling with the whole crew to El Patio for burritos and such, and then that Sunday heading up to Rumsey for the Lavender Festival which was really in just someone’s backyard. On the way home stopped at someone else’s house and bought their delicious home grown black berries. $6 for a pound. Gave Ollie just 1 blackberry for the ride back into town and by the time we got home (about 5 minutes or so) Ollie had blackberry all over his carseat, his hands and his face and his shirt. Just 1 blackberry! The Gast family decided to stay a little longer and we feasted on pizza and drank beers and watched the kids get dirty in the backyard and slowly start to melt down since there were no naps involved. I decided to throw all three kids in the bath. They were beyond and wipe down. You should have seen that bath water!

For fathers day, I wanted to take Mark and family to Lincoln to Beermans for brunch, which they clearly state on their website and the billboard when you get into town. Unload the kids and walk up to the brewery and it is closed. No mention of brunch, lunch or nothing! This was the 2nd time we have drove out to Beermans and it was closed! So we head back to Roseville and look for the new chain brewery B.J.s Brewery. If you are a fan of Unos Pizza/Restaurants, B.J.’s is under the same umbrella and they sell the same pizzas. Eat plenty and head to the mall across the street so the kids could play in the little outdoor park area and Mark starts to feel funny. Get home, and Mark is sick, sick, sick all day and night. Food poisoning! Feeling much better now.

Okay, long and boring. I will try to keep on top of things!
