As Ollie was rummaging through the recycling bag and picking up old milk jugs and beer bottles for the hundredth time, I said
“Ollie get out of there, what are you, a raccoon?”
And then he just looked at me with glowing eyes.

This weekend my nephew bought a new car. Well not exactly new, more like a kick ass 1962? 63? Impala! He had a few grand but was short another grand or so. His grandpa offered to kick in a $1000 if he cut his hair. And he did. I would to for a $1000 to put towards an Impala! But what is it about old people and their anti long hair campaign against boys? I thought his long hair, which by the way was not that long, looked very cool, hip, & mod. And just about every other kid has the same look right now. Will it by my generation and going forward that will be the most relaxed when it comes to long hair on boys? And also, at one point, my nephew, with his long locks, had died it black. Without knowing that he was not supposed to be dying his hair, Mark and I both said “cool hair, that looks really good!” and then my sis shot me a look and said he is dying it back this weekend. My sis also said I would do the same when my kids come home looking the same. But I really don’t think so. In fact I believe Mark used to do the same with his hair colors in high school, and his parents never complained. Please correct me Linda if I am wrong. I look forward to staining my hands pink when Ella wants a new pink hue! And sis, I owe you a dinner if I ever change my mind on this one!
